Charters
The secret to seeing Vancouver and the BC coast properly is via the water; and going on a fishing charter is a fantastic way to indulge in all the glory nature has to offer.
With different species opening throughout the year, there's always fish available for the taking.
May 1 to September 30
Our bottom fish become fishable with 1 Lingcod and 1 Rock Fish per license. Traveling to the Gulf Islands on a 10-hour charter is a must for retention of these fish.
June 1
Hatchery Coho Salmon usually open for retention with 2 per licence in local waters. Time it right with the tide with a 6-hour charter and we’ll have a blast reeling them in.
July 15
Prized Chinook retention starts usually in July with 1 per licence and a slot limit from 62cm to 85cm. Traveling to the Gulf Islands / Entrance Island on a 10-hour charter is essential for retention of these fish and we highly encourage having a minimum of 3 people.
September 1 - April 30 / Winter
Retention of Chinook in local waters starts later in the year with 2 per license and no slot limits.
Our local waters also offer fantastic crabbing and prawning during the winter months.
Charter perks
Cannonball not only has the fastest boat in the West, but it's heated/cooled as well, and has a washroom! Not only will your captain take you to some phenomenal fishing spots, he'll also take photos of you along the way on your phone to prove the tall tales you'll be telling!
